Health Department Programs and Resources

MIHP:

MIHP is a free benefit for Medicaid eligible pregnant women, caregivers and infants up to age 18 months. For more information, visit Health Department MIHP  or call MIHP at (810) 987-4903.

 

WIC:

WIC gives pregnant and postpartum women and children up to age 5 access to healthy food, nutrition education, breastfeeding support and community referrals. Families, including dads, grandparents, caregivers, and foster parents may enroll their eligible family members in WIC.

Lead Testing:

Lead Testing Program provides education and simple capillary blood test (finger stick) for children 12 months and 24 months to 6 years old at-risk for lead poisoning.  For more information, visit Health Department Lead Testing Program or call (810) 987-5300 x. 1455.

Safe Sleep:

Safe Sleep Education provides free support and education related to infant safe sleep for parents, caregivers, community groups and family members.  For more information, visit Health Department Safe Sleep Education or call (810) 987-5300.
