Since 2004 the St. Clair County Health Department has been organizing recreational activities in early June that allow everyone to celebrate, enhance and protect the beautiful rivers, lakes and bays we have right here in St. Clair County.

How will you spend your day on the water? Whatever you do, get out and show the water some love!

No fishing poles? No tackle box? No problem! St. Clair County Library System has got you covered. You need only your library card to check out a free fishing pole and tackle box from your local library.

Through River Day, the St. Clair County Health Department helps families understand how they can be better stewards of the natural resources we all enjoy. They want you to get out and enjoy our rivers, lakes and bays, but to also take care of them while you are out there. After all, those of us that enjoy the water have a significant vested interest in its health, as well as the health of all the fish and other animals that live in and around our waters.

River Day corresponds each year with the State of Michigan's Free Fishing Weekend.
