Service Bureau
The immense task of managing the large amounts of records, reports and
transactions that occur daily at the sheriff’s office is handled by the agents
of the Service Bureau. From the moment of entry into the office, you will be met
and assisted by an agent, either at the front information desk or at the bureau
window.
From typing and filing the over 15,000 reports and citations issued every year,
they also maintain the inmate records, firearm licenses and State offender
registry.
The agents are also able to provide assistance with acquiring accident and other
police reports, applying for firearm purchase and CPL licenses. Also, assistance
with filling out FOIA requests, notary service and fingerprinting for various
background investigations.
The Service Bureau is open
Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Dog Licensing
Licenses are required for all dogs over four months of age and are available
year round.
Licenses are considered non-delinquent in the following circumstances:
- Newly purchased or acquired dogs.
- Those pups just attaining four months of age.
- Those dogs just becoming a Michigan resident.
- Licenses purchased between December 1st and March 1st the following year.
New licenses must be purchased within thirty days in order to qualify:
Reasons for Licensing
- Excellent identification. It's your pet's ticket back home. It allows us
to notify you when your lost pet is found.
- It ensures that your dog is rabies vaccinated.
- Provides proof that the dog legally belongs to you.
- It's the LAW

A current rabies vaccination certificate signed by a veterinarian is required to
purchase a license.
Dog license applications are mailed out December 1st each Year. If the application
mailed to you has the box labeled "sex" printed "Male-Castrated" or "Female-spayed",
you need not provide additional proof of sterilization. If your rabies vaccination
expiration date on the application is current, you need not provide additional proof.
