MSU Extension county-based educators provide research-based educational programming on how to maximize food resources to promote good nutrition, and health. In addition, there are programs available for people who have limited financial resources. Groups and individuals learn basic nutrition, menu planning, shopping skills, food safety, household budgeting, and food selection through experiential activities. The Family Nutrition Program (FNP) provides food and nutrition education to individuals and families who are eligible for or receiving Food Stamps. The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) provide education to help low-income families with young children stretch their food dollars and enhance their family’s nutrition.
